Iran and Saudi Arabia are moving closer to direct conflict, analysts warn. On Monday, Saudi Arabia launched major air strikes on Yemen's Houthi rebels, ending a four-year pause in bombing.
More than 100 Saudi warplanes struck rebel positions. The strikes helped Yemeni government forces retake most of the Red Sea coastal territory that the Houthis had seized last month. Iranian military advisers had been embedded with the Houthis, according to reports.
Analysts expect the Houthis to retaliate by intensifying attacks. The Houthis are allied with Tehran, Iran's capital. Saudi Arabia supports Yemen's government.
