Amazon's Hidden World, Live on Screen

📡 Science (AAAS) · 1 min read ·
Scientists are building a system to watch Amazon biodiversity in real time, Science reports. The project aims to track animals, plants, and insects as they live and move in the rainforest. Instead of studying the Amazon through scattered trips and delayed data, researchers will gather information continuously. This matters because the Amazon is the most biodiverse place on Earth, and it is disappearing fast. Real-time tracking could show how species respond to logging, fire, and climate change while there is still time to act. The details appear in Science, Volume 394, Issue 6819, pages 18–19, October 2026.
