Prime Minister Keir Starmer has demanded that former Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich fulfill his financial promise to Ukraine.
Starmer stated that Abramovich must immediately provide the funds pledged from the club's 2022 sale. The money was promised to support "all victims of the war in Ukraine."
The UK government will take legal action if the payment is not made. It has given Abramovich a deadline of one week to comply.
Abramovich sold Chelsea after being sanctioned by the UK for his alleged links to the Russian government. He had committed the sale's proceeds to a charitable foundation for Ukraine.
