Russian forces say they have taken control of the village of Gerasimivka in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region. The claim was made by Russia's Defense Ministry on Thursday.
The village is located on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Its capture, if confirmed, would mark a small but strategic advance in the area.
Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on the Russian claim. Independent verification from the battlefield is currently unavailable.
The Dnipropetrovsk region is home to major Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. It has been a focal point of fighting since Russia's full-scale invasion began in 2022.
