72 New Drugs Added to Turkey's State Health Coverage

Turkey's Social Security Institution (SGK) will now cover the cost of 72 additional medicines. The announcement was made by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan. The newly covered drugs include treatments for several major conditions. Key additions are nine rheumatological drugs, nine diabetes medications, three cancer drugs, and two multiple sclerosis (MS) drugs. This move means patients prescribed these medicines will receive them at little or no cost through the state system. It aims to reduce significant personal healthcare expenses for many citizens. The expansion is part of ongoing updates to the state reimbursement list. Such updates aim to improve access to essential treatments across the country.
