Turkey's financial intelligence unit MASAK has handed over shareholder records for five investment funds to Istanbul's Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, according to a report.
The records cover a period when the funds — Pusula Finans, Tera Yatırım, Hedef Holding and Bulls Yatırım — were not yet trading on TEFAS, Turkey's electronic fund trading platform.
During that time, investor access to the funds was limited. TEFAS is the state-run platform where investors can buy and sell participating investment funds.
MASAK, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board, tracks suspicious financial activity in Turkey. It sent the shareholder information to prosecutors as part of its work.
