Ukraine secures new Patriot missile package, keeps partner secret

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine has agreed on a new package of interceptor missiles for its Patriot air defense systems. He did not say which country or countries will provide them. Zelenskyy shared the news during a meeting with the Ukrainian community in the United States. He described the agreement as "an important decision" but kept the partner's identity confidential. Patriot systems are advanced surface-to-air missile systems used to shoot down incoming threats such as aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles. Interceptor missiles are the projectiles these systems fire to destroy those targets. Ukraine has repeatedly asked allies for more air defense support to protect its cities and critical infrastructure.
