Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the UN General Assembly by video on Thursday. He was denied a US visa for the second year in a row. In his prerecorded speech, he accused Israel of policies that threaten the "life and existence" of Palestinians. He warned of a new Nakba, meaning "catastrophe" in Arabic, which refers to the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948. Abbas vowed that his people would remain "on their land."
