Thermo King, a brand of Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), is expanding its all-electric EV series across the Asia Pacific region. The move aims to advance urban cold chain transport—the refrigerated delivery of temperature-sensitive goods through cities.
The EV series uses electric power for refrigeration units, reducing emissions compared to diesel-powered systems. This matters as cities tighten rules on air pollution and noise.
Cold chain transport keeps food, medicine, and other perishable items at safe temperatures from warehouse to doorstep. Urban deliveries face growing pressure to go green.
The expansion targets Asia Pacific's fast-growing cities, where demand for fresh food and pharmaceuticals is rising. Thermo King did not disclose pricing or a full rollout timeline.
