Turkey's Capital Markets Board (SPK) has announced that 455,000 investors held money in funds now being liquidated.
However, data from TEFAS — the country's electronic fund trading platform — shows 726,000 people were invested in those same funds.
The gap between the two figures — 271,000 investors — has not been explained.
SPK is the government body that regulates Turkey's capital markets. TEFAS is the platform where investors buy and sell investment funds.
