Swedish police are investigating whether votes were bought during a campaign by politician Mohamed Abdukardir Ali, according to sources cited by newspaper DN.
Three groups with Somali backgrounds were specifically targeted during his personal election campaign, the sources say: women, young men who had not planned to vote, and people with substance abuse problems.
Police are now examining whether some of these votes were purchased.
