Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva warned the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that Brazil will not tolerate any attempt—foreign or domestic—to undermine its October 4 election.
"Brazilian democracy belongs to Brazilians," he said near the end of his address.
Lula's speech combined a defence of national sovereignty with a broader critique of the multilateral system.
