The day began with Donald Trump threatening to destroy Iran. It ended with a three-hour meeting between US and Iranian mediators, which Trump called “very good.”
Trump also held high-level talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Both sides said they want the war in Ukraine to end before winter.
Today, Zelensky and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will speak at the UN General Assembly. World leaders are looking for ways to end the two conflicts that now shape global politics.
This is also the final General Assembly for UN Secretary-General António Guterres. He warned that cooperation between nations is getting worse.
