Conflict and El Niño Threaten Asia-Pacific Economies, ADB Warns

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) warns that rising conflict and a strong El Niño weather pattern could hurt developing economies in Asia and the Pacific. El Niño is a climate pattern that warms ocean water and can cause extreme weather, such as droughts and floods. These conditions often damage crops, disrupt food supplies, and raise prices. At the same time, growing conflict in several regions is adding pressure. War and instability can slow trade, scare off investors, and push up the cost of basic goods. The ADB says these combined risks could weaken growth in developing countries across the region.
