The US and China should agree on international rules for artificial intelligence (AI), similar to the safety controls created during the atomic age, said Ro Khanna, the ranking member of the US House Select Committee on China. He made the statement in New York on Monday, ahead of a high-stakes summit between the two countries.
His remarks come two days before Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to arrive in Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump. AI is expected to be on the agenda at the closely watched summit.
