A liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker was hit by debris from unknown projectiles near the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported.
The UKMTO did not say who fired the projectiles or where they came from.
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. About one-fifth of the world's oil passes through it, making it one of the most important shipping routes on Earth.
The UKMTO advises ships in the region and reports security incidents at sea.
