ÖREBRO, Sweden — "Go vote." That was the message from the Örebro mosque as Sweden's election campaign was marked by anti-Muslim rhetoric.
At the same time, Left Party members like Nadja Awad knocked on thousands of doors, promising to freeze rents.
In Sweden's vulnerable neighborhoods, people who had never voted before are now turning to the Left Party.
"Jimmie Åkesson woke the bear that was sleeping," said Yonis Abokor, a resident of Vivalla.
