Driver Jailed 21 Years for Ramming Liverpool Victory Parade

A man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for driving a car into a crowd celebrating a Liverpool Football Club parade. Paul Doyle used his two-tonne Ford Galaxy as a weapon. In two minutes, he collided with well over 100 people. Prosecutors said he was prepared to cause serious harm, even to children, to force his way through. Doyle admitted to multiple crimes last month. These included dangerous driving and numerous charges of causing and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent. GBH is a legal term for very serious physical injury. His previous assault convictions were listed during the sentencing hearing. The court also heard statements from victims of the attack.
