Berlin voters head to the polls on September 20 to elect a new state parliament. Recent surveys show the Left Party (Die Linke) and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) running almost even at the top.
The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) follows closely behind with 17 to 18 percent support.
Meanwhile, support for the CDU and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) is slipping.
