A new Pew Research Centre report released on Thursday shows that China is trusted more than the United States and the European Union to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) effectively.
The survey covered 11 countries and two territories, mostly middle-income. On a median basis, more people in these places said they trust China to regulate AI. The US and EU ranked lower.
The findings come as tensions rise over AI competition worldwide and as public concern about the technology grows. China was not included in the survey itself.
