Far-right activists target 'Naza' director's parents: "You will be ashamed to walk the street"

Dozens of far-right activists gathered Wednesday night outside the home of the parents of Rachel Szor, one of the directors of the Israeli documentary *Naza*, in the town of Savyon, central Israel. The protest came amid growing criticism and threats against Szor and her co-director, Yuval Abraham, after the film premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The documentary details the hidden systems behind Israel's mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. One protester accused the filmmakers of committing "an act of treason from within" and said Israeli society should "denounce them," according to the outlet *Walla*. The same participant added that Szor and Abraham "will be ashamed to walk the street." The demonstration was led in part by far-right activist Mordechai David. *N12* reported that organizers spread photographs of the two filmmakers in WhatsApp groups under the slogan "traitors wanted," and that protesters displayed signs reading "let us denounce the traitors among us." The gathering took place as political pressure on *Naza* intensifies. Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to push a law allowing the revocation of citizenship for those who defame Israeli soldiers. He also proposed tougher compensation in defamation lawsuits. *Naza*, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, is based on anonymous testimony from 24 soldiers and members of Israeli intelligence services. It examines military operations in Gaza and the use of technology to select targets. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. It has been added to the San Sebastián Film Festival program and will screen in the Perlak section between September 23 and 26.
