Turkish authorities have arrested 41 people in Ankara and Mersin as part of a crackdown on LGBT+ organizations and human rights advocates.
In Ankara, eight more people were detained and formally arrested as part of an operation targeting LGBT+ groups and rights defenders. Among those jailed is journalist Tuğba Tekerek, who was detained over a news report she had written.
In Mersin, 28 people were arrested.
