NATO fighter jets shot down a drone over Lithuania on Tuesday, the latest in a series of incidents raising tensions with Russia. Lithuania is a NATO member, and the drone entered its airspace overnight.
In a separate incident, Denmark reported that a Russian frigate fired flares at one of its military helicopters. The helicopter was monitoring the Russian ship in the Baltic Sea at the time.
These events suggest Moscow may be probing how far it can push NATO and the European Union. Analysts say Russia appears to be testing the response of Western allies without triggering direct conflict.
