Turkish police detained 18 people in Izmir as part of an operation targeting LGBT+ individuals, code-named "My Family Is Safe." A court ordered 16 of them to be arrested and held in custody.
In Ankara, a separate investigation into the LGBT+ rights group Kaos GL is ongoing. Authorities are still processing the detention of 21 people linked to that case.
