Rent prices in Istanbul have risen by 9.4 percent, even as rents across Turkey have fallen by 7.1 percent in real terms over the past year. The figures highlight a growing gap between Istanbul and the rest of the country. While tenants nationwide are seeing some relief when inflation is taken into account, those in Turkey's largest city face the opposite trend. The average rent in Istanbul now stands at 45,510 Turkish liras.
