Voters across Sweden faced long queues at polling stations on Sunday. In Umeå, some waited three and a half hours to cast their ballots.
The Election Authority warned in 2022 that this situation could escalate. Anna Nyqvist, the authority's head of office, said the problem is systemic.
"This is a system problem. You cannot blame the municipalities," she said.
