Prabowo to BRICS: Stop Relying on the West

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called on BRICS member states to recognize their shared strengths and work together, in a speech urging the group to make better use of what it already has. Subianto said the bloc's members hold significant combined resources and should use them to benefit one another. BRICS — short for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, now expanded to include more countries — is a grouping of major emerging economies that seeks to balance Western dominance in global affairs. The president did not announce new policies or agreements. His remarks focused on unity and cooperation among member states.
