Leaders of the 11-nation BRICS group called for calm in the Middle East on Saturday. They met at a summit in New Delhi, India, and issued a joint statement despite earlier disagreements.
The group includes China, Russia, Iran, and India. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the summit alongside Russian, Iranian, Indian, and other leaders.
Xi told the summit that the Middle East war "does not serve the common interests of the international community."
