The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Sudan has reinforced its security measures. This follows a recent attack that killed several people.
The mission's acting head, Major General Robert Yaw Affram, visited the town of Kadugli to assess the situation. He met with peacekeepers stationed there and other key local groups.
A UN statement confirmed the visit. It said the goal was to strengthen the mission's protection strategies for civilians and its own personnel.
The mission, known as UNITAMS, has not released specific details about the new security measures. The move highlights growing safety concerns for both aid workers and Sudanese citizens amid ongoing conflict.
