Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused Germany of seeking conflict after Berlin linked a drone found at Leipzig-Halle Airport to Russia. He called Germany’s response “the beginning of a real war.”
“They want war again,” Lavrov said.
The Russian minister made the statement following Germany’s decision to connect the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) found at the airport to Moscow. Lavrov did not provide further details on what specific German actions he was referring to.
Tensions between Russia and Germany have been high since the start of the Ukraine conflict. The drone discovery adds a new point of friction between the two nations.
