US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Friday, in a renewed push to restart peace negotiations.
The meeting followed separate discussions the envoys held with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The goal was to revive efforts to end the ongoing war.
However, the latest diplomatic effort produced no visible breakthrough. No joint statement or specific next steps were announced after the talks.
The visit marks another attempt by Washington to bridge the gap between Kyiv and Moscow. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly insisted on a full withdrawal of Russian forces as a precondition for any ceasefire, a position Moscow has rejected.
Zelenskyy’s office confirmed the meeting but offered no additional details. The envoys left the Ukrainian capital without addressing reporters.
