At least 11 people were killed, including two infants, in Israeli strikes on a residential building in southern Lebanon early Monday, according to Lebanon’s state news agency. The attack hit the town of Deir Zahrani.
The Israeli army had earlier ordered residents of a specific zone in Deir Zahrani to evacuate, warning of imminent strikes against Iran-backed Hezbollah. The building was located in the area covered by that evacuation notice.
The strikes mark another escalation in cross-border violence. Casualty figures could not be independently verified, and the full extent of injuries remains unclear.
