Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of wanting to declare war on Russia. The statement follows Berlin’s official blame of Moscow for a drone attack in Leipzig.
Lavrov, known for his aggressive rhetoric, said Germany’s accusation marks the “beginning of a real war.” He did not provide evidence for the claim.
The German government has not yet responded to Lavrov’s remarks. Tensions between the two countries have risen sharply in recent weeks.
