Ukraine’s defense procurement agency says it purchased 5,000 all-wheel-drive diesel pickup trucks through open competitive bidding, saving more than $45 million compared to initial market prices.
Six suppliers will deliver the vehicles by the end of this year. The agency did not name the suppliers or specify the truck models in its announcement.
The tender was open to multiple bidders, a process the agency says helped drive down costs. The trucks are intended for military use, though the agency did not detail their exact deployment roles.
