Stockholm’s Green Party (Miljöpartiet) has pledged one billion Swedish kronor to increase the number of departures in the region’s public transit system, SL. The goal is to convince more residents to leave their cars at home. “The biggest improvement could be adding new express buses,” said Jakop Dalunde, the party’s regional transport spokesperson, about the election promise. The proposal comes ahead of upcoming regional elections, as the party seeks to make public transport a more attractive option for daily commuters.
