Russia Strikes Kyiv on Eve of School Year: Children Injured in Sixth Day of Attacks
Three children were among the injured in Kyiv on Monday as Russia ended its sixth consecutive day of attacks on the Ukrainian capital with a massive ballistic missile strike. The assault came just hours before the start of the new school year across Ukraine. Russian air attacks also disrupted lessons on the first day of school in multiple regions, forcing students and teachers into shelters as explosions sounded overhead. The ongoing bombardment has left Kyiv residents on edge, with air raid alerts interrupting daily life and now threatening the education of thousands of children. Ukrainian officials have not yet released a full casualty count, but confirmed that minors were among those wounded in the latest strike.
