Inter's Unlikely Rise: Undefeated and Top After Turbulent Start

Inter Milan are the new leaders of Serie A. They reached first place with a 2-1 win against Genoa, despite a season filled with drama. Manager Cristian Chivu has faced heavy criticism. His team lost four of its first 14 league games and suffered two tough Champions League defeats. Yet, he insists the season is a success. "The reality is different to the narrative," Chivu said. "We started under a magnifying glass... but we are still up there." The statistics support him. Inter is the only team in Italy's top division without a single draw this season. Their aggressive play brings wins or losses, not ties. Meanwhile, rivals AC Milan keep losing points against weaker teams. This has helped Inter's climb. Even with European setbacks, Inter's position is strong. They are likely to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage and will play for the Italian Super Cup this week.
