At least 27 people were killed in a Russian attack on an ammunition depot in the town of Bucha, just outside Kyiv, overnight, according to Kyiv Governor Tymur Tkachenko.
Writing on Telegram, Tkachenko said the strike triggered a massive explosion and a subsequent fire in the building.
Forty-two people were wounded, and another 380 were evacuated from the area. Tkachenko warned that the death toll could rise.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised retaliation for the attack, adding that ammunition must not be stored near residential areas.
