Nepal Glacier Disaster: Experts Urge Building Bans After Deadly Flood

The recent glacier collapse in Nepal that triggered catastrophic flooding was extremely difficult to forecast, according to disaster experts. Given the challenges in predicting and detecting such events, researchers are now advising authorities to ban all new construction on floodplains.
