Haze crisis: Malaysia and Indonesia join forces as 600 schools shut.

Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed to coordinate efforts to tackle a worsening haze crisis that has forced nearly 600 Malaysian schools to close and obscured the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The Petronas Twin Towers, usually visible for miles, have been swallowed by a thick grey shroud. The cause is wildfires still burning across Indonesia’s Sumatra and Kalimantan regions, the latter located on the island of Borneo. Authorities from both countries are now working together along their shared border on Borneo. Malaysia’s environment ministry has confirmed the joint operations, which aim to share airspace and resources for cloud-seeding and firefighting efforts.
