Ukraine’s drones destroy second Russian MiG-29 in two days at Millerovo airbase

Ukraine’s drone forces struck a Russian airbase for the second consecutive day, destroying another MiG-29 fighter jet. The attack on the Millerovo airbase also took out four radar systems in the same night, according to Ukrainian military officials. The strikes were confirmed by Ukraine’s drone commander, who said the operation targeted key military infrastructure. In addition to the jet and radar equipment, the drones hit a plant that produces solid rocket fuel. Two ships described as part of Russia’s “shadow fleet” were also damaged in the coordinated assault. The shadow fleet refers to vessels used by Russia to transport oil and other goods while bypassing international sanctions. These ships often operate without clear ownership or insurance, making them difficult to track. The loss of a second MiG-29 in just 48 hours marks a significant blow to Russian air power in the region. The Millerovo airbase, located near the border with Ukraine, has been a frequent target of Ukrainian drone operations. Ukrainian forces have increasingly used long-range drones to hit targets deep inside Russian territory, aiming to reduce Moscow’s military capabilities. The latest strikes suggest Ukraine is intensifying its campaign against Russian airfields and supply lines.
