Ukraine observed the 35th anniversary of its independence on August 24, a date that also marked four and a half years of ongoing conflict with Russia.
European leaders gathered in Kyiv for the occasion. A group known as the Coalition of the Willing is set to chair a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss increasing support for Ukraine.
The talks come as Ukraine faces an intensified bombing campaign from Moscow.
