Iran warns: New US sanctions will not force Tehran to bow

Iran has warned that it will respond harshly to expanded U.S. sanctions, including measures aimed at countries that cooperate with Washington. The warning comes after weeks of stalled talks between the two nations. The United States has so far failed to dislodge Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway through which a fifth of the world’s traded oil passed before the war began nearly six months ago. Now, Washington hopes that additional economic pressure will bring change.
