Turkey seeks Interpol arrest warrant for Netanyahu over Gaza aid raid

Turkey announced Friday that it is requesting an international arrest warrant from Interpol for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The move stems from a domestic criminal case linked to Israel's interception and detention of dozens of activists in May. Those activists were attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which remains under a blockade. In response, Netanyahu's office issued a sharp statement. It called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan an "anti-Semitic dictator" and said Israel would "act forcefully against Turkey's attempts to destabilise the region." The exchange marks a new escalation in tensions between the two countries.
