At least 19 people were killed on Sunday in a new wave of drone and missile strikes across Russia and Ukraine. The attacks destroyed a book market in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, while Moscow faced one of its largest aerial assaults since the war began.
Both countries have escalated their long-range strikes in recent months. This has led to a rising number of civilian deaths, more than four years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
