India’s Modi Offers Free Coaching and AI Training After Youth Protests
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that his government will provide free online coaching lessons for competitive exams, weeks after massive youth-led protests forced the education minister to resign. Modi said the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on millions of families struggling within the country’s fiercely competitive education system. The 75-year-old leader made the announcement while speaking from the ramparts of New Delhi’s imposing 17th-century Red Fort. He added that the program will also include training in artificial intelligence to help young people prepare for future job markets. The move comes as Modi seeks to address growing frustration among India’s youth over limited employment opportunities and the high cost of exam preparation.
