Israeli airstrikes killed at least 11 people in southern Lebanon on Saturday, marking one of the deadliest attacks since a June agreement eased fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
The Israeli military said the strikes were retaliation for a Hezbollah attack on its soldiers in northern Israel. In response, the Iran-backed militant group warned that the assault would be "met with what they deserve."
The latest violence threatens to unravel the fragile calm that had held for months.
