Indonesia Sends Rp4.5 Billion in Aid After Deadly Earthquake

Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs has deployed emergency teams and relief supplies worth more than Rp4.5 billion to assist survivors of a deadly earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The quake struck the region recently, causing widespread damage and claiming lives. The aid package includes food, tents, blankets, and hygiene kits. Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini said the supplies are being distributed to the hardest-hit areas. “We are prioritizing speed and accuracy to ensure help reaches those in need quickly,” she said. In addition to material aid, the ministry has sent social workers and psychologists to provide trauma counseling for survivors, especially children. Mobile kitchens have also been set up to serve hot meals to displaced families. Local authorities are still assessing the full scale of the destruction. Many residents are staying in temporary shelters after their homes were damaged or destroyed. The ministry has coordinated with regional disaster agencies to ensure smooth delivery of aid, despite challenging terrain and damaged roads.
