The Yemeni armed forces have issued a stern warning to Houthi rebels, vowing a “harsh and deterrent” response to a missile attack on a vital civilian port.
Colonel Majid al-Nuzaili, the official spokesman for the Yemeni military, said the attack on the port of Mokha—which was struck by six ballistic missiles—will not go unpunished.
In a statement, al-Nuzaili stressed that the armed forces will not allow the Houthi militia to turn civilian infrastructure and the interests of the Yemeni people into legitimate targets.
He added that the response will be proportionate to the scale of the threat and the crimes committed, without providing further details on the timing or nature of the planned retaliation.
