Israeli troops have been deployed to the Palestinian village of Qusra in the occupied West Bank after a wave of settler attacks left families without water and electricity. Residents say the campaign is aimed at forcing them from their homes.
The Israeli military, known as the IDF, has officially condemned the violence and intervened in the area. However, Palestinians say soldiers have long ignored or even enabled such attacks, and the recent deployment has done little to deter the settlers.
In a rare move, Washington has sharply criticized the settlers’ actions. The situation in Qusra highlights growing tensions in the region, where international pressure on Israel is mounting.
